The Quantitative Research Phase (QRP) began directly after the first project meeting in Coimbra and finished with the second project meeting in Berlin on the 1st of July, where analysis of the responses to the Medilingua questionnaires was presented.

The aim of the QRP was to identify the most prevalent medical emergency situations specific to a range of demographic groups including adults, children, infants, pregnant women and the elderly, as well as identifying the most commonly used mobile devices among paramedics and other health professionals in the target countries.

To this end we contacted over 40 paramedic institutions, from big international organisations such as the Red Cross – who employ 150 paramedics only in Berlin – to much smaller companies providing emergency medical transport services. Medilingua questionnaires were provided and, in some cases, the opportunity arose for us to spend time with the paramedics and explain some of the more practical aspects of how Medilingua intends to achieve its mission going forward.
